When Life Burns Down, Something Extraordinary Wants to Emerge

How Letting Go Creates Space for Your Deepest Possibilities

Well, it's officially been 16 weeks since I took the leap and quit my job, embracing a path that was calling from the deepest part of me.
It’s also my 15th consecutive week writing this newsletter. A warm welcome to the many new subscribers who recently joined after my appearance on the "What is Money?" show with Robert Breedlove.

Why The Liminal Leap?

Given the influx of new readers, this feels like a good moment to share more of my story—and why I created The Liminal Leap.

Over the past few years, I experienced significant internal shifts—
Call it a mid-life crisis, spiritual awakening, or profound transition.
Whatever label you choose, the truth was unmistakable: my identity was transforming.

From the outside, my 17-year sales career appeared to be everything I'd once aspired to.
I was working for an innovative tech startup solving global challenges,
surrounded by friends I admired, selling to some of the world’s largest companies,
and earning an excellent income.

I had all the things I thought would make me happy, content, fulfilled.

But inside, things were different.

The more I succeeded externally, the more misaligned I felt internally.
My career, once energizing, became draining.
Success felt empty—reduced to acquiring more things rather than embodying meaningful values.
My energy was depleted, and it was beginning to impact my home and family life.

Gradually, then suddenly, I felt an intense pull toward psychology, consciousness, and spiritual insight
fields I had originally studied and had profound experiences with.

The Leap into Liminality

I believed I'd transition gradually—perhaps after my company’s eventual exit.
But life had other plans.

One pivotal weekend, after intense discussions about the growth phase ahead at work,
I woke abruptly at 1:30am, feeling suffocated.
Tuning into my body’s clear message, I knew it was time.
Trusting this intuitive knowing, I resigned that Monday.

I vividly remember one of those final days commuting to the office.
I was listening to my favorite podcast, "Know Thyself," and the episode featured a woman who lost her home in the LA fires.
The message:

Sometimes things must burn down to create space for the new.

I wasn’t consciously aware of it at the time, but my body knew.
It trembled with recognition.
I now see it clearly: my body already knew my old life was about to burn away.

Overcome with emotion, I found myself screaming at the top of my lungs in the car
a raw, primal release of fear and grief.

That moment marked my full dive into liminality
a space where the old has dissolved, and the new has yet to fully emerge. I had been dipping my toes in prior to this moment, but I was now all the way in.

Liminality is disorienting, lonely, even frightening
but it is also sacred.
A rite of passage.

Something old must end for something new to emerge.

Whether it’s an identity, relationship, or long-held dream,
letting go is painful—especially when what you’re releasing once deeply served you.

But letting go isn’t failure.
It’s clearing space for what wants to be born.

Bridging Personal & Collective Transformation

My personal liminal journey mirrors a broader collective transition.

Just as I had to surrender old identities and face the uncertainty,
society is also undergoing a massive shift—driven by AI, Bitcoin, decentralization, and more.

My background in tech allows me to see the patterns forming.
As someone wired as an early adopter, I recognize a critical insight:

Technology cannot evolve faster than human consciousness.

Without deeper inner growth, technology will only amplify trauma and ego on a collective level.

There’s a deep parallel here:

  • Personally, we grasp at old patterns and coping mechanisms from childhood.

  • Collectively, governments and institutions cling to outdated structures and binaries.

This grasping is rooted in fear—but it delays what must evolve.

Integrating Tech, Consciousness, and Spirituality

My journey has been about bridging tech and spirit, strategy and soul.

For instance, as I navigated my own emotional and energetic shifts,
I noticed a pattern of volatility—bursts of clarity, followed by contractions.

It mirrored something I knew well:
Bitcoin’s monetization cycle.
Breakthrough → pullback → new baseline.

It’s not just financial.
This is the archetypal pattern of transformation.

What You’ll Find in The Liminal Leap

This space is built on the practices and frameworks that have supported me, including:

  • Traditional meditative techniques

  • Contemplative prayer

  • Integral Polarity Practice

  • Integral Theory

The themes I explore often weave the inner and outer, the personal and planetary:

  • Bitcoin as a catalyst for awakening

  • AI as a mirror for consciousness

  • Conscious and embodied leadership

  • Redefining leadership paradigms

  • Navigating consciousness as AI surpasses intellectual capacity

  • Identity shifts at the individual and collective level
